Kudumbashree is a people-oriented community network that promotes women's empowerment, poverty eradication, livelihood development and active participation in local development.
About Kudumbashree
Kudumbashree is the State Poverty Eradication Mission of Kerala and one of the state's major community-based initiatives for poverty eradication and women's empowerment. Established in 1998, Kudumbashree works in close association with Local Self-Government Institutions and enables women to participate actively in economic, social and community development activities.

Kudumbashree functions through a three-tier community network extending from the neighbourhood to the local-government level.
GRASSROOTS LEVEL
Neighbourhood Group (NHG)
Neighbourhood Groups form the grassroots foundation of Kudumbashree. Women from local communities come together for savings, credit, livelihood activities, mutual support and community participation.
WARD LEVEL
Area Development Society (ADS)
Area Development Societies coordinate and support the activities of Neighbourhood Groups at the ward level and facilitate collective development initiatives.
PANCHAYAT LEVEL
Community Development Society (CDS)
The Community Development Society functions at the Local Self-Government level and coordinates Kudumbashree activities and community development initiatives.

Women as Partners in Local Development
Kudumbashree provides women with a platform to become active participants in local development. This community-based approach strengthens people's participation in the development process.
Kudumbashree & Ramapuram Grama Panchayat
Ramapuram Grama Panchayat supports community-based development initiatives and encourages the participation of women in livelihood, social development and local development activities. Kudumbashree provides an important platform for strengthening women's participation and community-led development at the grassroots level.
